E-mail on chem.jsums.edu

If you are a member of faculty, staff or a graduate student at the Department of Chemistry you can have your personal e-mail on the chem.jsums.edu server.

You will receive the following benefits:

Web Messaging - Users may read and send e-mail from any Web browser while enjoying their favorite desktop e-mail features like spell-check, address book, and multiple attachments. Web Messaging is especially attractive to users who are away from the office or just away from their desks and need quick and easy access to their e-mail messages. Self-administration allows users to modify their own mail delivery rules, mail forwarding, auto-responders, directory information, and vacation messages.

Open Standards Support for SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4 allows for a wider range of compatibility with e-mail clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, etc.

Web Calendaring - A Web-based calendar allows users to keep and store multiple schedules, appointments, task lists, and date reminder information accessible through an intuitive and user-friendly Web interface to increase user efficiency. The calendaring function is accessible remotely from any location through any Web browser.

Mail Delivery Rules - Give administrator and users the ability to filter messages based on the content of a message header or body. This feature helps you decrease spam and catch viruses before they hit your computer.

AntiVirus Scanning - All incoming and outgoing e-mails are scanned for viruses. All virus-containing e-mails are deleted to make sure your computer will not get infected by opening virus-containing attachment.

AntiSpam Scanning - All incoming e-mails are scanned for spam using sophisticated techniques.
